Joel reports that the material was VERY well received by both students and other safety professionals who were also presenting. And — for those who are dealing with a shorter time frame to deliver their presentation (most school periods range from 40-48 minutes), you’ll be happy to learn that Joel was able to deliver a slightly-shortened version of the official talk in just 35 minutes!

We’re putting the finishing touches on a video “walk-thru” of the presentation with Joel that should be available in the next few days. We’ll announce the release, or check back into our Speaker Resource page for more details.

Campaign Overview Training — We had a great live training session at AAJ winter meeting in Phoenix last Friday. Edited material should be up by the end of the week on our Speaker Resource page. We’ll make a special announcement as soon as it’s available.

Today, Friday, Feb 10, we’ll be hosting a meetup and training at the Arizona Biltmore in the Gold Room starting at 3pm.  Speakers will  have the opportunity to meet members of the working group behind the project as well as connect with other speakers from around the country.

We’ll hear about the purpose and mission of our efforts to End Distracted Driving from attorney Joel Feldman, founder of The Casey Feldman Foundation and EndDD.org, our non-profit partner in this campaign.  We’ll also learn practical steps from attorney Jeff Weinstein, founder of NODD.org and a volunteer speaker in his area on distracted driving who in the past three years has spoken to more than 12,000 high school age students about this important issue.

Finally, we’ll discuss the 5 Steps to Success for every speaker:

1. Join the Movement
2. Connect with Your Community
3. Share the Story
4. Deliver the Message
5. Keep the Momentum
