This week, Joel Feldman, founder of EndDD.org, presented material from the official End Distracted Driving Campaign Presentation to a high school in Baltimore, MD as part of a larger safety awareness effort.

Joel reports that the material was VERY well received by both students and other safety professionals who were also presenting. And — for those who are dealing with a shorter time frame to deliver their presentation (most school periods range from 40-48 minutes), you’ll be happy to learn that Joel was able to deliver a slightly-shortened version of the official talk in just 35 minutes!

We’re putting the finishing touches on a video “walk-thru” of the presentation with Joel that should be available in the next few days. We’ll announce the release, or check back into our Speaker Resource page for more details.

And don’t forget to order your wristbands!

We’re excited to announce that the official 2012 End Distracted Driving – Campaign Presentation is live and ready for download!

This PowerPoint presentation has been months in the making and represents hundreds of hours of work from veteran speakers, researchers, experts, graphic designers and more. Joel Feldman and the EndDD.org team have done an incredible job of putting together an inspired and inspirational presentation that you’ll be proud to present to your local audiences!

If you’re a speaker in this campaign (or a school or group administrator who would like to preview the material), visit our Speaker Resource page and you’ll find the download under Step 4 — Share the Message. Before you download the talk, please take just a moment to read through the information below:

IMPORTANT — The presentation is a LARGE file (65+MB) and will take some time to download. Clicking through to a direct link will begin an automatic download on some browsers. You should have no problem downloading this size file with your high-speed internet connection, but we do suggest avoiding download directly to a smart phone or other device with restricted bandwidth.

IMPORTANT — To play the embedded videos in the presentation, you’ll need to use PowerPoint 2007 or later (PC) or PowerPoint 2008 or later (Mac). You can also download a free viewer (see details, below), but please note, the free viewer will not allow you to display the presenter’s notes section while delivering your talk. You’ll need to download the script (also below) if you’d like to refer to that text.

FOR PC –
Save file onto your desktop (or another folder).
Open with Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 (or later).
You can also download the free PowerPoint 2010 viewer.
Download Viewer – Large file (60+MB) and may download slowly
Download Script – Use in place of “Notes” section in Viewer

If you’re a volunteer attorney speaker and attending the American Association for Justice winter meeting in Phoenix Arizona, please join us for a special speakers event.

Today, Friday, Feb 10, we’ll be hosting a meetup and training at the Arizona Biltmore in the Gold Room starting at 3pm. Speakers will have the opportunity to meet members of the working group behind the project as well as connect with other speakers from around the country.

We’ll hear about the purpose and mission of our efforts to End Distracted Driving from attorney Joel Feldman, founder of The Casey Feldman Foundation and EndDD.org, our non-profit partner in this campaign. We’ll also learn practical steps from attorney Jeff Weinstein, founder of NODD.org and a volunteer speaker in his area on distracted driving who in the past three years has spoken to more than 12,000 high school age students about this important issue.

Finally, we’ll discuss the 5 Steps to Success for every speaker:

1. Join the Movement
2. Connect with Your Community
3. Share the Story
4. Deliver the Message
5. Keep the Momentum

Not able to attend? This training will be recorded and made available on our Speaker Resource page.

Hope to see you there!
